In celebration of our Golden Jubilee, Houston Joy of Quilts is proud to announce that we have engaged Dana Auctions to conduct the 2027 auction on January 29, 2027 — live and online from the Stafford Centre. Our goal is to raise $20,000 for the guild.
These funds will be used exclusively to create quilts of comfort for those in need and to further the art of quilting through instructing, designing, and creating for generations to enjoy. Tell your friends and family — the more eyes we have on our quilts, the greater opportunity we have to raise funds to continue our charity initiatives.
Meet our auctioneer
Dana Balsamo
Dana Balsamo is a nationally recognized quilt appraiser, antique textile expert, and professional auctioneer known especially in the world of quilts, vintage fabrics, and textiles. She has appeared as a textile appraiser on Antiques Roadshow, bringing her expertise to a national audience, and lectures on quilt history, fabric dating, and textile preservation at guilds and historical societies.
How to participate
Donate a vintage or antique quilt
Donate your vintage, antique, or handmade quilt to QGGH. As a 501(c)(3), we will provide a tax-deductible receipt.
Create & donate a new quilt
Showcase your craftsmanship! Create your unique quilt and donate it to the auction. All sizes welcome.
Bid live or online
Join us in person at the Stafford Centre or watch and bid online. January 29, 2027 · 5:00–7:30 PM.
