- Entries in this show must have been made in the two years prior to it and may not have been displayed in any quilt show in the State of Texas within the 13 months prior to January 1, 2025.
- All entries must consist of 3 layers – quilt top, batting, and backing. All layers shall be held together as one unit by hand or machine quilting. Some exceptions may be made at the discretion of the Show Committee in cases of traditionally different styles – cathedral windows, crazy or yo-yo quilts.
- The Show Committee reserves the right to accept or reject any submitted entry, to divide or combine entries in more appropriate categories, and to not award all ribbons.
- There will be one First Place ribbon given for Best of Show Machine Quilting and one First Place ribbon given for Best of Show Hand Quilting. These are in addition to the Overall Best of Show.
- All decisions of the Show Committee are FINAL.
- QGGH members have no limit in the number of items entered. Non-members may enter three (3). Entry fee for QGGH members is $10 per item. For non-QGGH entries, the entry fee is $20 per item. Entry fees are non-refundable after January 1, 2025. Guild members must renew their 2025 Guild membership prior to the show.
- Number of entries may however be limited based on space considerations. Confirmation of acceptance and check-in information will be sent to entrants by January 1, 2025. Any entry refused acceptance will have entry fees refunded.
- Non-guild members may enter quilts in any category except for #2400 the QGGH Member Challenge.
- The deadline for the receipt of all entries is November 19. Quilts need not be completed at the time of registration. All entries will be submitted online and must include:
~ Entry form with all fields completed
~ Appropriate fees must accompany each entry
~ A clear photo of the entry
- If entry is to be mailed/shipped back to entrant, there is a $30 fee. To make arrangements, contact the Show Curator, Lisa Mastriano.
- Each entry may have only ONE listed entrant. The name on the “Entrant” line must match the release signature on the form. Entrant must either be the owner of the item entered or must have been involved in the making of the item.
- All entries must have a sleeve at the top and a label sewn on the lower back corner of the quilt which should include the quilt name, maker’s name, and date completed (see instructions). Quilts being judged must have this label covered by a piece of cloth, basted in place, which is to remain in place during judging.
- Your quilt must not have any strong odors, e.g. smoke, perfume, mothballs, etc. since it will be stacked with other quilts. It must also be completely free of pet hair. Delivering a quilt not to be deemed SHOW READY may be grounds for refusal.
- Each Entrant will be given a receipt for items that are checked in. Receipt MUST be presented to claim items at the end of the show. No entry will be released without a receipt. All entries must remain on display for the entire show. If someone other than the Entrant is picking up the entries after the show, that person must have the receipt and permission in writing by the Entrant to retrieve the show entries.
- By entering a quilt, permission is granted to the Quilt Guild of Greater Houston (QGGH) for the right to photograph the entry for its files, publicity or promotional purposes in all media types. This permission remains in effect and on file until revoked IN WRITING. I understand that I am responsible of insuring my own entry (entries). I and all those claiming through me, hereby release QGGH and its members from all liability in connection with the display and use of the described entry. I understand that no responsibility for loss or damage to my entry (entries will be assumed by QGGH, its officers, agents or volunteers).
